WINTER IN VT, SKI FREE

Sure, Vermont is a skier or rider’s paradise. But if you don’t find the thrill of downhill in your list of preferred pastimes, don’t be so quick to shy away from a winter visit to the Green Mountain State. Burlington has a little something for everyone, no matter the season.

A Different Pair of Shoes

Your snow boots are ready to take on the Vermont snow. Consider swapping them out for some skates or snowshoes! All within 10 minutes, drive, Calahan/South Park, Roosevelt Park, and Battery Park each offer outdoor rinks to skate in the open air, while Leddy Park Arena offers indoor skating and an escape from the chilly temps.

Strap on some snowshoes and pay a visit to our friends at the Intervale or Shelburne Farms. We have complimentary snowshoe rentals available to guests, with alternative rentals down the street at Outdoor Gear Exchange.

Extend your morning with a warm and cozy brunch! Juniper is known for its Red Flannel hash, mushroom tartine, biscuits and gravy, and Bloody Mary bar. Just a few steps away, our neighbors at Bleu know waffles better than anyone. The Grey Jay, just up the street, makes a Bucket o’ Spuds that knocks socks off – and will set you up perfectly for a snowy day of movies on the couch.

If you’re looking head out for a casual dinner, the fireplaces and snuggly booths are Zero Gravity Beer Hall, Trattoria Delia, Farmhouse Parlor (downstairs) are the first places to start. Just drinks and tunes? Live music is playing at The 126, Hotel Vermont, Foam Brewers all the time.
