Since our inception, one of Hotel Vermont’s grounding brand pillars has been natural. Vermont’s landscapes and our natural surroundings are infused into our design, service style, and guest experience. When making a connection with the team at Vermont Parks Forever a couple years ago, we knew we could build something together. We see their mission as a tangible manifestation of what we strive to do everyday: share the beauty of Vermont in its truest form.

Partnering with the nonprofit to bring guests three park-inspired guest rooms that support funding for their work just made sense. Not only does this collaboration allow us to support an organization that works to maintain the natural spaces that bring us so much inspiration, but it gives our guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in Vermont parks both within and beyond our walls.

Bringing the team from local gift shop, Common Deer, onto this project was just as natural of a fit. Their pre-existing partnership with Vermont Parks Forever working with local artists on a series of depictions of nearly all Vermont parks, served as a clear foundation for us to expand the in-room experience. From there, Common Deer’s connections with domestic makers and vision for spaces that celebrated the three parks of our choosing – Camel’s Hump, Mount Philo, and Green River Reservoir – helped us bring a touch of Vermont parks indoors.

A stay in each room, booked through our Vermont Parks Forever Package, offers this elevated room experience, state parks passes, and a $50 donation to Vermont Parks Forever made on your behalf.

ABOUT COMMON DEER

To outfit the bedrooms, we partnered with Common Deer, an award-winning, value-aligned Burlington gift shop sourcing US-made goods from small makers. The 500+ brands that they work with drive our economy forward from the ground up, prioritizing people and planet over profit. 

We leaned on local gift shop Common Deer to help us outfit and elevate the room experience for this package. We have maintained a friendship with the shop over the years, sending guests in search of locally made items to commemorate their stay just a few blocks down to the Common Deer storefront. Bringing them onto this project was a natural fit, as they have a pre-existing collaboration with Vermont Parks Forever, working local artists to create depictions of nearly all Vermont parks from which a portion of proceeds go back to VPF.
