Biking the causeway to the Island Line Bike Ferry is one of our favorite activities in the late-summer & fall.

We suggest starting in Burlington (about 30-40 miles round trip) however, if you’re interested in a shorter ride, park at the Causeway/Airport park in Colchester. This will significantly cut down on miles without sacrificing the most beautiful section of the bike path.

Once you’re off the ferry, explore South Hero! Grab maple creemees & apples at Alleholm Farm or sip wine at Snowfarm Vineyard before continuing on your ride.

The Bike Ferry will not be physically collecting money or making the change onboard or shore side. We ask passengers to leave donations in designated receptacles to help cover the significant costs of running our service.
