What is your favorite part about working at the hotel? Being a part of a large community that has similar values. Hotel Vermont does an amazing job at balancing sustainability and hospitality in all aspects of the hotel.
What is your favorite part about living in Burlington? The bike path! I am a new bike owner and loving the commute to work on the scenic route.
Favorite winter activity! I grew up in the White Mountains so skiing & snowboarding are my passions. I’m excited to see what the Green Mountains have to offer during the winter months! I’ve heard great things about Bolton, Sugarbush, and Jay Peak!

Give us a Burlington local secret. Stop by Istanbul Kebab House when they open at 11 am. The Turkish coffee in the morning is the best. It’s small, but strong and flavorful. Grab an almond pudding on the side.
What are some other go-to’s in a nearby city or town? Check out Montpelier. A stop by Positive Pie is a must.
A fun fact about yourself, perhaps? I really love airports. I’ll admit I’m not entirely disappointed if my flight is delayed. I’ll grab a decent meal, pop into shops, find a seat with a good book.

Where can we find you on your days off? When the weather is nice in the summer, my family and I love to go fishing! The Winooski River and a few spots in Waterbury are our favorite places to go.
What do you enjoy most about working here? The team. When I need a day off, I know I can count on the others to step in and make sure everything get done – and done well. Everyone, from my team to the Westport team, has been so supportive. This is the first job I’ve had since moving to the United States, and I haven’t left! That was in 2013. Hotel Vermont feels a bit like home now.

What keeps you in Vermont/Burlington? Burlington is just the perfect sized city. You can see old friends around town but you’re constantly meeting new people as well. In the winter you can find me in the mountains snowboarding, where I get a minimum of fifty days a year. I’m in love with Mount Mansfield and its secret stashes. During the summer I love to bike, play baseball in a local wooden bat league and then spend my nights sampling the many fine restaurants and bars I’ve come to love. I can’t imagine living anywhere else at this point.
Where’s the best sandwich in town? Oh gosh, this is so tough. Big shoutout to my guy at Four Corners of the Earth Deli. Latso has been making incredible sandwiches there for years. The new kids on the block at Poppy Cafe have been blowing my mind. I had the best sandwich of my life there the other day on their homemade focaccia and it was an entirely vegetarian sandwich. I’m not a vegetarian and to make something with that much flavor and texture without leaning on meat… super impressed.
Your go-to stop for a great cocktail? Archives! That cocktail program is constantly rotating and they are committed to elaborate and time consuming drinks that blow me away. When I can, I love to stop by the Barr Hill tasting room in Montpellier. Their program is led by a small team of absolute pros who consistently deliver a diverse menu focused on their own products with unmatched execution.
Vermonters have to love beer, right? So tough! Zero Gravity has to be part of the top 3. I have drank a lot of Green State Lager and, hot take, Little Birdy (an IPA with Guava that they release once a year) might be the best IPA I’ve ever had. Hill Farmstead makes my list, too. The hoppy stuff that they produce is world class but for me, it’s the tart and complex farmhouse ales that bring me sheer joy. Finally, I’ll give big props to River Roost out of White River Junction.

Go-to foliage hike? Sterling Pond! There’s a pond at the top and, a few steps further, a great view from the top of a ski lift. If you have a dog, it’s a great one to bring them along on!
It’s raining. What do you do in Burlington? Head to some galleries! BCA Gallery on Church St. is open to the public and has rotating exhibits of local artists.
What do you love about working here? Being part of the team! And I have a lot of love for Burlington. Working at the front desk, I’m able point our guests to my favorite spots in town that make me love living here so much. It creates a genuine and authentic experience!

If you were a brand of cereal, which would you be and why? Humbly, I’d have to say Frosted Flakes. Just because…I don’t know…some have described me as more than just good, I’m pretty great. Fun, crunchy, just sweet enough.
Favorite summer activity? I love a good picnic adventure! A perfect summer day is spent by the water somewhere. A trip to Triple Buckets with a car packed full of friends and yummy food is a day well spent! Stop by City Market for a sandwich and some snacks and then hit the road.
