Health & Safety at Hotel Vermont

Friends of Hotel Vermont,

We have been so humbled and moved by the support and well wishes we have received during this challenging and unprecedented time. Our team at Hotel Vermont is thinking of you, and we hope that wherever you are, you are safe, healthy, and surrounded by the people you love.

We are excited to share that we are back in action!

While certain interstate travel restrictions apply, we expect these to continue to ease over the coming weeks allowing unrestricted travel from increasingly more places in the Northeast without quarantine requirement, while all other travelers, from any county or state, will have the option of self quarantine in their home state combined with a negative test result. This is not dissimilar from most other travel destinations and we feel comfortable that travel will become easier as time passes this coming month.

Please research all travel restrictions through The Vermont Agency of Commerce* which provides all travel details and restricitons you need to know prior to your stay. You are also required by the state to complete a Certificate of Compliance prior to arrival.

On August 1st, Governor Phill Scott has enacted a mandatory mask amendment any time it is not possible to maintain a physical distance of at least six feet with others from outside their household. You must wear a mask at all times when in public areas of Hotel Vermont.

Please find our most asked questions below, including those related to making changes to reservations when needed.

We are taking this time to practice gratitude. To check in on our guests and valued team members, and to connect (from afar) with our resilient and strong Burlington and Vermont community.

Please join us at Brick, our outdoor kitchen & bar! Live locally? Make a reservation here.  We’re open Wednesday- Saturday or book a table at Bleu Northeast Seafood next door at the Courtyard Marriott for dinner or weekend brunch.

We are all in this together and we are here for you.

Hope to see you this summer!

Preventative Health Measures and FAQ:

Once the hotel opens, we promise you will be in good hands. The safety and well being of our guests and our team is our number one priority. We will follow strict guidelines from the Vermont Department of Health, the CDC, VOSHA and guidelines provided by the American Hotel and Lodging Association’s “Safe Stay” program which exceed those of all three referenced agencies and underwritten by industry leaders in the hotel industry.

We thank and very much appreciate our guests for supporting us in following these guidelines for the health and safety of yourself, our team, and our community.

We are acutely aware that these guidelines do not always agree with our standards of caring and personal hospitality but we can assure you that behind all of this lives the spirit of people who are fully dedicated to, and motivated by,
your wellbeing and a relaxing experience. So, don’t be afraid to ask! Over the next few months we will also be introducing technology tools to assist us in optimizing your experience at Hotel Vermont.

So, here are some details about the guidance we will live by:

Our Team:

  • All team members are screened at the beginning of each shift which includes a temperature check and completion of the Vermont Department of Health questionnaire

  • Guest Rooms cleaning protocols require that particular attention is paid to high-touch items such as door handles, light switches, elevator buttons etc.

  • What am I going to do? Answer: lots! We will happily provide suggestions based on the timing of your visit as Burlington opens up more and more each week over the coming month. We will update this section frequently as well as other parts of our website. Summer is our favorite time and with the lake only steps from our front door, opportunities are endless! Check out our Explore section of our website to get inspired and excited to explore Burlington and the surrounding area.
  • I made a reservation and pre-paid for my stay, and things change, what happens? Pre-paid, non-cancelable stays mostly relate to a special offer we have made, like cyber Monday or our Birthday celebration. We are in this together and we will get out of this together. Should you for any reason related to this COVID-19 crisis not be able to stay with us for your pre-paid stay, we will happily help you find an alternative date. Should, for any reason, the hotel have to cancel your reservation, you will receive a full refund, as well as you will have the option to select a different date, your choice.
