2 - 4 pm.
Hotel Vermont is excited to welcome Burlington Silent Book Club to the Juniper Terrace on Sunday, May 31. Enjoy a drink and a snack from Juniper and join the group, no reservation required. Just bring a book, chat with your neighbors, and enjoy an hour of quiet companionable reading in a room full of people doing the same thing.
Here’s how this low-key monthly event goes down:
- 2:00-2:30 – Get settled. Get a drink/snack, grab a seat, hang out and chat!
- 2:30-3:30 – Quiet reading hour–read the book you brought (this is essentially a flash mob of readers)
- 3:30-4:00 – Stick around to chat more. Or, keep reading. Or, feel free to head out. Choose your own adventure, this is whatever you want it to be!
Tips:
- Coming solo or for the first time? We very much encourage this, and you will not be the only one!
- If you’re sensitive to background noise/music, bring headphones for the reading hour
- Recommend arriving on time to ensure you get a seat on the terrace
- If you’re driving, park for free for 2 hours at the Downtown Garage next door (entrance at 41 Cherry St)
