About the artist

Phil Cohen blends indie rock and lyric-driven folk into a lush soundscape that opens a window into the many versions of his life. Hailing from rural Vermont, Phil spent his formative musical years in New York City where he worked as a hospice nurse and honed his songwriting craft. Informed by this unique perspective of the human experience and his deep love for poetry, his songs flow effortlessly between lucidity and dream state. His latest work, “I Put the Day Away,” explores themes of existential dread, lost love, religion, and letting go of the past.
