We’re excited to welcome Dr. Alain J. Brizard, PhD in Astrophysical Sciences, 1990, Princeton University, on April 7, the eve of the highly anticipated 2024 total solar eclipse. He’ll discuss a bit about the science and history behind what our guests will witness the following afternoon, as Burlington falls on the eclipse’s path of totality.

Dr. Brizard is a world-renowned theoretical plasma physicist with research interests in thermonuclear fusion and space plasma physics. He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and his research is funded by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and is a member of the Vermont Academy of Science and Engineering. He is currently a Professor of Physics and Chair at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont.
