Join us for a trip out on our beautiful Lake Champlain from 2 pm - 4 pm! As a part of our partnership with the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center, we rent out complimentary paddleboards and kayaks with guests for an afternoon out on the lake. We will meet with our Hotel Vermont guide in the lobby at 1:45 pm to walk down to the boathouse and sign in. August 4 - Festival of Fools

Festival of Fools is Vermont’s premier street performing, comedy, and music festival all rolled into one magical weekend in Burlington. This year’s Festival promises to carry on a nine-year tradition of offering up something for everyone, with over seventy-five shows throughout the weekend, as the Queen City becomes a symphonic landscape of slapstick, comedy, sight gags and song. The Festival takes place on the Church Street Marketplace.


August 4 - HVT Signature Bike & Brew Tour

Join us for HVT's signature Bike & Brew Tour this Friday afternoon from 3:00pm - 6:00pm!  We will be biking around Burlington's downtown and South-end areas to taste a variety of unique local brews.  We will begin our guided biking tour at the new Foam Brewery, then meander down the scenic bike path to Switchback Brewery and Zero Gravity, ending with light stop at Citizen Cider. We will then return home to Hotel Vermont.  Each tasting stop will offer a new explosion of artisan brewing at a local level.  We will meet in the lobby at 2:45pm, and plan to return within 3.5 hours. Come along for a beautiful 6 mile (round trip) bike ride to the Red Rocks Park. We will bike and hike around the park and see some beautiful natural features on the shore of Lake Champlain. 9 am - 11 am

We will also be stopping at two or three cafes for coffee and pastries, including one of Burlingtons most seasoned cafes, Maglianeros. We will be enjoying some coffee samples and information from one of the very knowledgeable baristas. We will also have the opportunity to enjoy homemade icecream, donoughts, and more! Butnitz bikes are available for complimentary use. Tour begins at 9am and lasts between 1 and 2 hours.

Don't miss out on a FREE guided cocktail walk through the downtown Burlington. We will start at Juniper where we will taste our signature Hotel VT Gin and Vodka that we've collaborated with local legends SILO Distillery. We will then walk to the tasting rooms of Mad River Distillers and Smugglers Notch Distillery to try an assorted variety of local spirits and cocktails. Join the culinary team at Hotel Vermont as we grill our way through an epic line-up of traditional and contemporary interpretations of an Argentinian asado. Diners will be seated around our outdoor kitchen and enjoy myriad specialities in succession as they finish grilling. Options will always be decided day of in order to ensure freshness, and diners can expect speciality meats (e.g. alpaca, goat), as well as housemade sausages, grilled provoletta, summer vegetables, and an abundance of traditional sauces. While vegetarians are welcome, this is a meat-centric menu.

September 8 - South End Art Hop

Way back in 1993, a creative little event started that was designed to bring people to the south end to explore, get-together, see how art is made, and buy art.  The event attracted a couple hundred people, a little music, good art, and visiting about 20 studios and businesses one night in October. 

25 years later, the South End Art Hop continues to bring our community together around creativity, and provides a huge economic boost to our businesses, while hosting over 30,000 visitors on September 8-10, 2017.

 


September 9 - Pride Parade

The Pride Parade is a beloved institution here in Vermont and throughout the world. It began as a anniversary celebration of the Stonewall Riots but has evolved over time to encompass the many LGBT heroes, struggles, and victories since. Pride Parades are held at different times in different places. It begins at the south end of Church St. and ends at Battery Park where the festival is held! Marching in the parade is fun, easy, and inexpensive.
