July 7 - HVT Signature Bike & Brew Tour

Join us for HVT's signature Bike & Brew Tour this Friday afternoon from 4:00pm - 7:00pm!  We will be biking around Burlington's downtown and South-end areas to taste a variety of unique local brews.  We will begin our guided biking tour at the new Foam Brewery, then meander down the scenic bike path to Switchback Brewery and Zero Gravity, ending with light stop at Citizen Cider. We will then return home to Hotel Vermont.  Each tasting stop will offer a new explosion of artisan brewing at a local level.  We will meet in the lobby at 3:45pm, and plan to return within 3.5 hours. In celebration of the Vermont Brewers' Festival, we are hosting The Maine Event! An event for hotel guests, the Maine Event package includes tickets to Hotel Vermont's Maine Event with two tasting tokens (more can be purchased at the event), accommodations, tickets to the Friday afternoon session of the Vermont Brewers Festival, and a take home glass. July 21 - Bike Ride to the Causeway

Join our Activities Coordinator Kevin, for a 17 mile (round trip) bike ride along Lake Champlain to the beautiful Causeway. Part of the Burlington Rails-to-Trails system, the path passes many beaches and has minimal hills. The trip will take between 2 - 3 hours. Meet it the lobby at 2:45 pm to rent the hotel bikes. After a long day of Brewfesting, join us as we bike down to Oak Ledge to walk along the rocks and then take a cool refreshing dip in the lake. On our way down we'll stop at Scout & Co. for some Iced Coffees. On the way back, we will stop at the Juice Box for our much needed detoxifying smoothies, and then we'll return back to the hotel. The Festival takes place on the Church Street Marketplace.

Way back in 1993, a creative little event started that was designed to bring people to the south end to explore, get-together, see how art is made, and buy art.  The event attracted a couple hundred people, a little music, good art, and visiting about 20 studios and businesses one night in October. 

25 years later, the South End Art Hop continues to bring our community together around creativity, and provides a huge economic boost to our businesses, while hosting over 30,000 visitors on September 8-10, 2017.

 


September 9 - Pride Parade

The Pride Parade is a beloved institution here in Vermont and throughout the world. It began as a anniversary celebration of the Stonewall Riots but has evolved over time to encompass the many LGBT heroes, struggles, and victories since. Pride Parades are held at different times in different places. It begins at the south end of Church St. and ends at Battery Park where the festival is held! Marching in the parade is fun, easy, and inexpensive.
