September 2 - HVT Signature Bike & Brew Tour

Join us for HVT's signature Bike & Brew Tour this Saturday afternoon from 3:00pm - 6:00pm!  We will be biking around Burlington's downtown and South-end areas to taste a variety of unique local brews.  We will begin our guided biking tour at the new Foam Brewery, then meander down the scenic bike path to Switchback Brewery and Zero Gravity, ending with light stop at Citizen Cider. We will then return home to Hotel Vermont.  Each tasting stop will offer a new explosion of artisan brewing at a local level.  We will meet in the lobby at 2:45pm, and plan to return within 3.5 hours. Tours are $50 per person and include a Hotel Vermont guide, bike, and tastings at each establishment (food not included).  For questions or to reserve your spot, please email ask@hotelvt.com


September 2 - Kayaking & Standup Paddleboarding

Join us for a trip out on our beautiful Lake Champlain from 12 pm - 2 pm! As a part of our partnership with the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center, we rent out complimentary paddleboards and kayaks with guests for an afternoon out on the lake. We will meet with our Hotel Vermont guide in the lobby at 11:45 am to walk down to the boathouse and sign in. Trips should last between 1 - 2 hours. For questions or to reserve your spot, please email ask@hotelvt.com

September 3 - BIKE & BREW: CAFÉ EDITION

Start off your morning right with a bike ride to the water front and along the bike path. We will also be stopping at two or three cafes for coffee and pastries, including one of Burlingtons most seasoned cafes, Maglianeros. We will also have the opportunity to enjoy homemade icecream, donoughts, and more! Butnitz bikes are available for complimentary use. Tour begins at 9am and lasts between 1 and 2 hours.

September 8 - South End Art Hop

Way back in 1993, a creative little event started that was designed to bring people to the south end to explore, get-together, see how art is made, and buy art.  The event attracted a couple hundred people, a little music, good art, and visiting about 20 studios and businesses one night in October. 

25 years later, the South End Art Hop continues to bring our community together around creativity, and provides a huge economic boost to our businesses, while hosting over 30,000 visitors on September 8-10, 2017.

 


September 9 - Pride Parade

The Pride Parade is a beloved institution here in Vermont and throughout the world. It began as a anniversary celebration of the Stonewall Riots but has evolved over time to encompass the many LGBT heroes, struggles, and victories since. Pride Parades are held at different times in different places. It begins at the south end of Church St. and ends at Battery Park where the festival is held! Marching in the parade is fun, easy, and inexpensive.

Come along for a beautiful 6 mile (round trip) bike ride to the Red Rocks Park. We will bike and hike around the park and see some beautiful natural features on the shore of Lake Champlain. 9 am - 11 am

Join Vermont filmmaker, Jay Craven in honoring the life and work of Howard Frank Mosher. On Saturday, September 23rd Craven will provide reflections on his three decades of collaboration with the Northeast Kingdom writer and screen his first Howard Frank Mosher feature film, "Where the Rivers Flow North."
